All in a Day's Honesty

“You need to tell her, you know,” Lavender said.

“This isn’t your business, Lavender,” Rowan snapped.

“Haven’t you learned by now that I make things that are not my business my business? I’ve been where she is and it’s not fair. She knows something is wrong. You don’t want to want until you get poisoned and she’s by your bed in the infirmary and you say someone else’s name and she feels like utter shite.”

A Leg for a Leg

“Iffen you harm Oz, I’ll break yer legs.”

Lavender looked up to see Mac standing over her. She was staying at the Council tonight and had not even heard the slayer enter the sitting room she had been in. It was late, and MacDougal had probably just come in from a patrol. They’d been doubling up since the last incident with the zombies.

Lavender folded the book she had been reading closed. “And hello to you as well, MacDougal.”

Hugs Gone Wild

Neville looked up when the bell rang over the door. He was just filling an order for a pick-up due later. More and more orders for winter flowers were coming in and he was starting to make notes on which flowers he would need to start growing early simply to meet the demands.

That was why it took him a few moments to actually notice who came into his shop. He hadn’t seen her in a few months, but he would know her face anywhere. “Hermione!”

Hermione smiled when Neville stood and gave her a giant hug. He still towered over her, the top of her head only coming to his chin, but she squeezed him back just as tightly. “Hi, Neville.”

Not My Zombies

Buffy was at the end of her patrol session. The night had been quiet. Two vampires and some weird ghost-ghoul thing that took one look at her and flew back into the ground in a panic. She hadn’t even had time to blink before it was gone.

With a sigh, she decided to walk back to the council, taking a detour through one more cemetery. Her mind wandered as she walked through. It was getting colder and she would need to buy heavier coats. She was not winter prepared.

I forgot who I was

Kasie had been avoiding her and Oz both for days, and Mac wasn’t having any more of it. She burst into the room they shared, but did not find her. Mac stood there and thought for a minute before she turned and headed for the roof.

She heard the door to the roof open, but didn’t turn. She was sitting on one of the corners of the building, her back to a pillar and her knees pulled up to her chest. Ever since the heist, all Kasie could think about was Willow falling to the ground and seizing because of the poison. She was promised that no one would get hurt, but two people had: Willow and Dana. Kasie wasn’t sure how she felt about the other slayer, after seeing her up close. Dana seemed just as lost as she was.

Kasie had hoped whoever came up to the roof was only trying to get some fresh air and would leave her alone, but steps sounded louder the closer they got. “I want to be alone.”

Lamplight

It was late.

Theo was staying to keep watch on Willow. Several people had been by “just to check on her”. Xander had even offered to just sit if Theo wanted to go lie down... in Buffy’s room. Theo thought it was interesting how well Buffy’s close friends seemed to like him. It was a different experience for him.

There was a noise out in the infirmary. he and Willow were the only ones in there just now. Xander would not be back for at least another two hours.

Mostly Quiet

Theo had given her several potions and then said he was staying the night to keep watch on her. Willow was feeling sort of spinny right now. The room’s energy was mellow, and she could hear the hum of the lights. It was sort of zen.

Somehow she wasn’t overly concerned just now with the fact that someone had tried to poison her. She felt nice. Like she was taking a bath. Willow suspected that was because of the potions Theo had given her. What she liked was that she could hear the slayers again. It was a great deal of comfort.

There is no Light Without Dark

Setting off a human time bomb in a room full of people was right up Ethan’s alley. He liked this, and he liked that he’d finally be able to get away from the psycho slayer. The minions had just released the slayer into the museum. At first she walked calmly, just looking at everything.

Ethan absolutely loved the face of the slayer on guard duty that spotted her first. That was priceless.

Slip In Through the Backdoor

Kasie kept in touch with Michael, although they never saw each other again after that first meeting that Mac set up for her. Notes and cryptic voicemails would suffice. Until she received a voicemail with a date, time, and place. She knew it was Michael because he signed it as he always did and didn’t include the tag that let her know to actually stay away.

Curiosity piqued, she got permission from Oz, Willow, and Buffy to visit, provided she came back at a certain time and didn’t do anything like lift a few things from unsuspecting pockets. Her fingers twitched when she walked behind a woman with her purse wide open, but after clenching her fingers, Kasie stuffed her hands in her pockets and quickly walked past the woman.

The coffee shop Michael wanted to meet in was busy, mostly due to the cold weather prompting shoppers and tourists to retreat for hot beverages. He was seated in a booth in the back. He smiled when he spotted her and waved her over. There was a cup next to his on the table and she smiled back. Of course, he would remember what she liked.

Just as Kasie came up on the booth, she slowed down. There were three cups on the table and someone seated in the seat across from Michael. Because of the angle she had entered, she hadn’t seen the other occupant, but now that she was finally stopped in front of it, she didn’t try to hide the glare.

Pain with Pleasure

He’d found out from the desk clerk at her hotel where she would be today, so Xander sat himself at a table and waited. He’d grabbed a Daily Prophet and was reading it. He’d never read so many newspapers in his life since coming to England, but he liked the way the pictures moved. It was easy to get into Diagon Alley now because the proprietors were begging to know him as the Muggle who worked with the slayers, and apparently being seen with the likes of Hannah Abbott and Draco Malfoy gave him some wizarding street cred.

He ordered himself something to nibble on and some tea and waited.

Pansy walked into the small tea shop and placed her bags near the table she always sat at.
